Voting and this and that

If you think that voting is not important, try to think how you would feel if the right to vote was taken away from you! My mother has been a member of a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in Oklahoma for 50 years. As a woman, for many years she was not allowed to have a "vote" in church affairs. Then, finally they changed the rules and allowed women to vote. That lasted 10 years. Last year...they TOOK AWAY again the women's right to vote! They heard her opinions loud and clear when she stood up and talked to them about how wrong that is.

My feeling is that we are all on pins and needles, since this is going to be such a close election. I am very impatient to know the results, and hope that we don't have a long drawn out vote counting process again.

It has been an eventful time in Boston. Kerry is having a lunch of "chowdah" and oysters at the Union Oyster House in Boston today. Johnny Damon was on Letterman last night, and I was actually up to watch it. He pooh-poohed the idea that there was a gatorade cup of Jack Daniels passed around in the club house before the games as reported by Kevin Millar. He said that was not true. He said, "Before the biggest game of our lives, we wouldn't do that." Thank God for that. I choose to believe him.

See you on election night.
