Michael comes today!
The weather forecast here for Thanksgiving week is 56 degrees or above, and Thanksgiving Day is going to be positively balmy at almost 70 degrees. George dug up the dalias yesterday and cleaned up all the pots of herbs and flowers that were killed off by that early snow day. All our plants outside did not survive that day, except for the snapdragons, which weathered the storm and are still blooming! I brought the rosemary and the thyme into the kitchen window. Most of the birds have flown south for the winter, but those winter hardy bright red cardinals are at the bird feeder to bring a spot of joy to any dreary day. Speaking of bright, I bought a Christmas cactus on Saturday and it is covered with pink blossoms ready to explode just in time for the holidays.
And Michael comes today. Have I said I can't wait?
