George bought this plane at the auction today. He is a member of the 107th RC Flyers. The flying field is on the edge of a big salt marsh just east of downtown Boston. It is a big expanse of sky and salt grass and a fun place to be.
The Spitfire, as George tells me, is a famous Battle of Britain fighter plane. It was the deal of the day at his club auction today. He got it for $85.00. As soon as the weather is good enough he will be out there flying it and I'll be watching nervously from the sidelines. George is a great flyer, and one of the club's best. For today anyway, The Spitfire is now in a place of honor in the livingroom.
