Take off for a time out

We are making plans for several excursions that have nothing to do with work and the every day. Nothing like a few vacation plans to make one get up with a smile in the morning. George has always wanted to go to the Airforce Museum in Dayton, Ohio. For some reason, no one else wanted to go, and he didn't want to go alone, so...I have volunteered happily to go with him. I'm interested in planes too, but mostly I'm interested in hearing all the knowledge and information that he knows about airplanes. When we watch TV or a movie, he always tells me what kind of plane they are using, and if the History Channel is fudging by using a different one in a clip that the one they are featuring, he catches it every time. There isn't a plane that he doesn't know something about, and most of them he seems to know ALL about. This picture if of one of his favorites, the P-38 Lightning.

Anyway, I found that the Cincinnati Art Museum (close to Dayton, right?) has a Dale Chihuly installation in their lobby, so...off we go, probably in February.

Today I asked for time off to go to Oklahoma for a week to visit my mother, and help her clean her china cabinet, and other details that are important to her. She just had her 95th birthday and I'm not going to be there for Christmas, and I can't wait to see her again.

In the spring, we are going back to New Orleans and Louisiana, to savor the flavor of New Orleans and to sample the Fais Do Do of the dance halls of Cajun country.

And who knows what other plans we will find to make. A trip to Atlantic City on our way to visit Michael? Sure. Why not? Look what they have there!!!
