One hour before guests arrive

Well, the holly and the ivy is strung with lights, the ham is ready to go into the oven, the casseroles are ready to go in the oven, the fruit and veggie platters are arranged, and all the dips and chips and crackers are laid out. George has assembled the first bowl of punch. We are almost ready. Now, if only I had time for a nap.
