Here we are in Vienna, Virginia getting ready to get ready for the wedding of Mike and Michelle on Sunday. It is a fun time. The pitiful remnants of Hurricane Ernesto are going to be far north of us by the wedding day, so the forecast is now for a lovely "partly cloudy" day and NO RAIN!
This weekend, guests and the wedding party members are coming in from out of town, which entails lots of dinners out, and last minute preparations and timetables to discuss. Weddings get to be complicated even when everyone plans for them not to be.
Tomorrow George and I finish gathering the contents for the gift baskets that I am putting together for the out of town guests at their hotel rooms. Candy, small white votive "souvenir" candles, bottles of water, Lindt chocolates, mints, journals, pens, disposable cameras, kleenex...all the things that someone might want to have in their hotel room when attending a wedding. The baskets will be bought tomorrow, and filled with pretty tissue, a big white bow, and all the goodies. Delivery to the hotels will happen on Saturday.
Also tomorrow we will be having a cook-out at Mike's house for the bridal party who are arriving from all over. Just a simple, "family" affair, and I'm going to do the grocery shopping in the morning. Our list includes kabobs, chicken breasts, turkey sausages and brats, potatoe salad and...the list goes on.
All this is right up my alley, and I enjoy every minute of the plans and preparations. Everyone is so happy, and it is a joyous time. Time to hit the rack,...more tomorrow.
Have a great day.
